Frequently Asked Questions

What are "People" in the Control Panel?
People refers to users with assigned roles at your event. This includes the Admins, Speakers, Artists, Exhibitors, Sponsors and Staff. It also includes all your Attendees who have signed up.
What is an Admin?
You are an Admin! Admins have full access to the entire Control Panel for your site. This includes the ability to edit all aspects of your SCHED* site including People, Venues, Sessions and Settings.
How do I edit a profile for my speakers?
Go to the People tab and click their name.
How do I change the header image for my site?
You can change the header image for your site in the Settings tab.
How do I make edits to multiple sessions at once using batch actions?
Use the checkboxes on the left-most side of the Sessions tab and select the sessions you wish to edit. After selecting multiple sessions choose "edit" from the "Select batch action" menu. Any changes you then make will apply to all the sessions you have selected.
Can I sort the sessions?
You can sort your sessions by Event ID, Session Name, Time, Event Type or Venue. To sort, choose the top row in the table on the Sessions tab.
What's a vanity URL and how do I set it up for my site?
Your SCHED* site is currently at yourchoice.sched.org but you can change this to blend in with your existing website by choosing a vanity url like schedule.yourdomain.com. Here's how:

1) Select your preferred sub-domain of your existing site (e.g. schedule.yourdomain.com )
2) Email your selection to support@sched.org and wait for confirmation.
3) Have your system admin point your sub-domain's A-Record (IP address) to 205.186.156.98

Please note that you need to change your sub-domain's A-Record, not its name-servers. Don't forward or redirect anything, you only need to change the A-Record.
Is SCHED* reliable and secure? Where is the data hosted?
Yes, your data is backed up nightly and saved to multiple disks instantly. We take all precautions to keep your information safe and secure. Our state-of-the-art redundant server cluster is hosted and professionally managed by Media Temple, a recognized leader in high-end hosting.
Where can I find print ready versions of the schedule?
There are multiple print-ready options and other file formats available on the Importing & Exporting page in Settings.
How do I use the API?
You will need your own developer to use the SCHED* API. Get your API Key and then review the API documentation first. Email support@sched.org if you have any questions.
